Breakfast, breakfast—what are my kids going to eat for BREAKFAST?
Do you know that we eat in the morning, sets our “blood sugar clock” for the rest of the day? Grandma was right when she said “breakfast is the most important meal.” When we eat a high-carb breakfast with little protein or fat, or even worse…we don’t eat breakfast at all…our blood sugar will spike and crash all day long leaving us tired, cranky and drained. On the other hand, when we eat a balanced breakfast with protein and healthy fat included, our blood sugar stay stable and we feel balanced, energized and hopefully HAPPY!
I don’t know about you, but I much prefer my kids to start their day HAPPY so I put some time, thought and energy into what my kids eat every morning. It’s no secret my kids like pancakes. In fact they like them a little too much and eat them most days of the week. We don’t use syrup, they eat them plain and usually with their hands. I either make Paleo Pancakes or Overnight Pancakes almost 5 times a week.
Variety? Who needs variety? 🙂
Actually I DO want more variety for my kids at breakfast time so my goal for the next few weeks is to find a few more recipes my kids like to eat that are healthy and protein packed. I asked my favorite bloggers to give me their kids’ FAVORITE recipes, meaning the recipes that never fail in the morning. I’ve put together a list of 10 no-fail breakfast ideas for kids. Happy eating!

Just made the chocolate pudding. We used maple syrup and added a tiny pinch of salt to the recipe. Huge hit! It kind of reminds me of a cruise ship dessert…..without the gross decorations.
