Oats and apples are a natural pair in our home, especially when I don’t know what else to cook!
1/2 cup of rolled or steel cut oats
1 cup milk or rice milk or water
1 apple chopped
Bring water/milk, apples and oats to a low boil and then turn down to a simmer until the oats and apples are tender. Add a pinch of cinnamon if desired. Also, if you are really in a hurry, cook the oats and then add applesauce from the fridge. I also add flax oil to this for a healthy fat from time to time.
